Venezuela

Dios y Federación (English: God and Federation) is considered the traditional state motto of Venezuela. It was first used as the rallying cry of the rebel forces during the Federal War, and it was subsequently incorporated into the country’s coat of arms after the conflict ended in 1863.

  1. Joe sat quietly in his study, the late evening shadows stretching across the room. Suddenly, a faint shimmer formed near the window — the ghost of Hugo Chávez appeared, his presence calm yet powerful.

Joe: “Hugo? Is that really you?”

Chávez’s Ghost: “Yes, Joe. I have come to speak with you about something important — my speech at the United Nations, where I called George W. Bush ‘the devil’.”

Joe: “That speech was bold. You dared to call out a world superpower openly.”

Chávez’s Ghost: “Exactly. I spoke truth to power. Bush’s wars brought death, destruction, and suffering to so many innocent people. He wore the mask of righteousness but acted as a destroyer.”

Joe: “You risked a lot to say that, but the world needed to hear it.”

Chávez’s Ghost: “They did. Sometimes the truth must be loud and unyielding. I wanted to shake the world awake — to expose the greed and arrogance behind the empire’s facade.”

Joe: “Do you think anything changed after your speech?”

Chávez’s Ghost: “Some hearts stirred, some eyes opened, but many remained blind. The devil still wears many faces, Joe. But we must keep fighting the good fight — for justice, for peace.”

Joe: “What would you say to the leaders today?”

Chávez’s Ghost: “I would tell them to remember the cost of their decisions — the lives lost, the families broken. Power without compassion is a curse. They must listen to the people, not just their own ambitions.”

Joe nodded thoughtfully. The room grew still as the ghostly figure began to fade.

Joe: “Thank you, Hugo. Your voice still echoes where it matters.”

Chávez’s Ghost: “Keep speaking truth, Joe. That is the legacy we leave behind.”

With that, the apparition vanished, leaving Joe alone but inspired — ready to continue the fight against injustice and corruption.
