  1. Elon Musk on Iridium and Dogecoin for Mars

Interviewer: Elon, can you explain why iridium is critical for your spacecraft and why you think Dogecoin should be the currency of Mars?

Elon Musk: Absolutely. Iridium is one of the rarest and most corrosion-resistant metals on Earth. It’s incredibly useful in spacecraft for a few reasons. First, it’s vital in making durable, high-performance electronics that can withstand the harsh conditions of space, like extreme radiation and temperature swings. We also use iridium in propulsion systems, particularly in spark plugs for ion thrusters and rocket engines, because it can handle the intense heat and wear without degrading.

Another key use is in satellites. Iridium-based communication satellites are some of the most reliable systems we have. So, if we’re building a Martian colony, reliable communication infrastructure is critical, and iridium plays a big role in that.

Now, as for Dogecoin being the currency of Mars, it’s all about practicality and fun. Traditional banking systems won’t work on Mars—no SWIFT codes or centralized banks. A cryptocurrency makes sense because it’s decentralized, fast, and doesn’t rely on Earth-based systems. Dogecoin, in particular, has low transaction fees and a strong community backing it. Plus, it’s a meme, and humor is important when you’re building a new civilization on a cold, red rock.

Imagine buying your Martian latte with Dogecoin—it’s instant, secure, and fun. And let’s be real, Mars is going to need a sense of humor. Dogecoin embodies the spirit of doing something bold and slightly absurd, which is exactly what colonizing Mars is all about.

Interviewer: Do you think people will take Dogecoin seriously as a Martian currency?

Elon Musk: Well, they didn’t take it seriously as a currency on Earth at first, but look at it now. It’s thriving. If we can make life multiplanetary, we can definitely make Dogecoin the interplanetary currency of the future.
